9/2/2023 0 Comments Kingdom rush icewind pass iron![]() ![]() I usually make that second archer tower on the right rangers with thorns and then add the cluster launcher upgrades to the Big Bertha's till the fight is done. Kingdom Rush Stage 8 Icewind Pass Iron Challenge - There is no place colder in there mountains than Icewind Pass, but we must advance. From here on out, and you're going to be close to done, you can upgrade whatever you want in the lower section. Then get them their second axe both fully upgraded. From there, first get them their Throwing Axes. Once you have those upgraded go to your two barracks and upgrade them to Barbarian halls. Use Meteor's only if they start getting too close. This will help clear the skies of the flying enemies. Once that is done upgrade the Homing missile's on the Big Bertha only. Once you have those three big bertha's go to the archer on the right corner closest to the artillery (Not the one under it) and upgrade that to a ranger station with thorns fully upgraded. Once you start to get enough slowly upgrade the three artillery first to Big Bertha's. Don't panic too much, nothing will really get upgraded for the first few waves. You'll want to begin saving as much as possible at this point. Save your meteors for when the groups get too huge as well. Now I just want you to place reinforcements down to try and pick off things at the top, and if they get close to you're main group of soldiers and your hero you will start smacking them down there. ![]() Your Hero choice should be Alleria or the mage dude if he's available because they have ranged attacks. Once they are there do not upgrade them! Your first priority will be to position your two barrack soldiers in the middle of the three artillery so that all get perfect range on any incoming adds. Your focus will be to get everything up at the bottom first and gradually add the three mage towers at the top as you can. Now, you probably won't have enough money right away to get this all out before the fight starts, and thats okay. Leave the one closest to the flag with nothing. The bottom row you want another set of barracks, a Dwarven Artillery and and the rest Archer towers positioned around the bottom path. The position closest to the left, you want to put a set of barracks. Don't upgrade these, they're just there to help put a little bit of damage. Before you start your waves up top you want to build 3 mage towers. 3 at the top, 3 in the middle, 5 spread out into two groups at the bottom right and one off to the left beside the flags. ![]() One always gets through regardless of how I upgrade the tower.Okay, here's the way I use and I never fail this level. The Tower cannot kill them all quickly enough. The problem still seems to be the sheer amount of flying enemies. ![]() For the challenge, it seems the best tower is the Arcane tower, as it one shots the flying enemies that fly near it. The special abilities gave the tower no advantage over the sheer number of flying enemies. All of the abilities I upgraded, other times I would upgrade Death Ray, or Teleport, or both. I upgraded the Wizard Tower before I upgraded anything else. If I spawn Legionnaires under the flying enemy, around it, before it comes, nothing matters, they do not use the spear that supposedly can be used on flying enemies.ĭo you have to somehow manually give them a spear? It's not clear if there is actually a reason they won't use the spear.Īfter posting this I tried some other things. I have had a couple cases in Icewind Pass during the Iron challenge with a single flying enemy getting passed the Wizard tower. I have never seen them even use the thrown spear against ground enemies let alone flying ones. When upgrading Legionnaires with Spear Throw, they do not seem to use it. I'm actually having trouble getting an Iron award in Icewind Pass because of this. ![]()
